My reaction to the interview of Morrie Shwarts and Ted Koppel is hard to explain. I was blown away by how this man is dealing with his life coming to an ending. Instead of crying and wanting to shutting out the world he is opening his heart. He knows that he is going to die and knows there is nothing he or anybody else can do. He seems happy and he is just looking at the silver lining in the clouds.

It made me think that if I knew that I was dying I know that I would most likely not act like Morrie Shwarts. I would be the one that would cry and do nothing. Just lay there and waste away waiting for death but after seeing this I think that I will try to act like Morrie when it comes to that point in life. To have people I love and want to be with around me. Why would I just want to waste what little time I have left. I would want to live life to the fullest.

  1. I think that your assessment of the attitude of Morrie is well said. The relatability of his life to yours is a connection which may seem strange (78 year old man, 17 year old girl) but its not so much his life, as his lessons and knowledge which he brings from his life which are the important aspects to focus on. I think you are starting to see the connection here, based on your response.
